Indistinct voices seem to reach me through this snowfall:
a long, long winter. A silence from which one looks back at what has been lived through — without pain, without exaltation — and somewhere within it, a muffled whisper. Images of houses where one once lived or stayed, fragments of conversations with those who are dear, or who simply happened to be nearby by chance. Dust, reflections on dishes, an apricot pit that never became a tree.
And how tiny we all seem in this white drift. Free both in our joy and in our sorrow.
The voices, the snow, and I among them — little bells, a little bell.
