"The North Sea, distant railways in foreign lands, the rooms of those I have yet to meet — already bear the trace of my thoughts, my breath. Where I am not, I have either already been — or will one day be."

You'll Never Know Anything About Me | series |

wood, acrylic, graphite, nails

2022

"Delicate, weightless images, created with graphite, chalk, charcoal, and pastel, emerge on fragile, unprimed cardboard that has undergone the rubbing of acrylic paint with fabric. This series of works captures physical and emotional dissolution, a rupture with vital energy, a state of being suspended between reality — an attempt to grasp it by gazing out of a bedroom window — and a return to memories of the past, to familiar places now imbued with new meaning.
The ephemeral female silhouette in the series slips away not only from the Other, who is unable to comprehend it, but also from itself."
